K-12 STUDENTS

STEM RESOURCES

DEVCOM C5ISR Center works to bring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) into sharper focus for students and provide direction and awareness of what work in the technology fields entails. A few of these opportunities include:

MATH AND SCIENCE CAMP

The Summer Program enhances your child’s interest in STEM through a fun, hands on approach based on how today’s students learn science. The curriculum for each session revolves around observation, questioning, and designing solutions using engineering and technology. All programs are taught by state-certified teachers. The C5ISR Center Math and Science Camp is designated as a camp in “good standing” by the license board of the Maryland Department and Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH).

Introducing the Summer 2025 Themes

Flight and Rocketry: Entering 5th and 6th Grade.
July 21 – July 25
Explore science and the history of flight, from the first attempts to get off the ground to adventures in space. Campers will experiment with the four forces of flight as they learn about aviation technology and build “flying machines” of their own.
STEM in Pop Culture: Entering 7th and 8th Grade.
July 28 – August 1
Ever wonder if what you see on TV is real? Come explore and experiment to uncover the truth! From the physics of a Rube Goldberg Machine to the imaginative world of Minecraft, join us as we ponder the STEM in our favorite leisure activities.
Natural Disasters: Entering 9th and 10th Grade.
August 4 – August 8
When weather strikes, what forces are at work and how do we stay safe? Campers will explore the STEM behind building better bridges, houses, and cities while diving into the science of hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and more.
