C5ISR Center works to bring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) into sharper focus for students and provides insight about working in a technology driven career. A few of these opportunities include:
C5ISR Center Math and Science Summer Camp is a one-week introductory STEM program providing students with hands-on learning in science and engineering, featuring the development of models to solve real world problems. Campers participate in planning and carrying out investigations, analyzing data, and discussing, explaining, and using evidence for ideas.
The Summer Program enhances your child’s interest in STEM through a fun, hands on approach based on how today’s students learn science. The curriculum for each session revolves around observation, questioning, and designing solutions using engineering and technology. All programs are taught by state-certified teachers. C5ISR Center Math and Science Camp is designated as a camp in “good standing” by the license board of the Maryland Department and Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH).
Applications for the 2023 Camp Season are now closed.
The RISE Program is a two-week internship program for current High School students who will be 16 years of age on or before July 1, 2022.
Program participants work with professional engineers and scientists to complete result-oriented work. In addition to technical skills, student develop professional skills through a series of leadership workshops.
Over the course of the two-week RISE program, students spend between six and seven hours each day working in professional APG labs. Students are exposed to real-world technology and provide assistance to the engineers and scientists who work at APG to support the Soldier.
Applications for the 2023 Season are now closed.
Development of STEM literacy must begin at the youngest grade levels. C5ISR Center Outreach Program Office tours an in-school program to interested 1st through 5th grade class rooms in northeastern Maryland. The program couples storytelling, basic STEM language, career awareness and children’s natural tendencies towards inventive play.
This one day in-school assembly, promotes STEM engagement through an activity or guest speaker panel. The program is designed with the specific school’s needs in mind and customized to best serve your students.
The world-class C5ISR Center workforce is committed to nurturing the next generation of STEM professionals. We are pleased to offer the opportunity for students to work virtually with one of our scientists or engineers in the completion of a high school capstone project.
